Music Fest 2010, Tip of Borneo, Simpang Mengayau, Kudat, sabah

I had the chance to witness this event firsthandedly and I have to say, bravo Sri Perlancongan Sabah, a subsidiary company own by the Sabah Tourism Board, to have had organized a captivating event under a breathtaking view.

I reached Simpang Mengayau at about 4 p.m and it's burning hot. I saw a few familiar faces and joined them for a drinks before making our way to the main floor of the event. It's nearly 5 p.m. now and still the sun is shining burningly but eager music lovers, tourists and locals are slowly filling all the empty chairs and soon the place is heavily crowded.

The show started with a brief introduction by the funny emcee, I should say, Mr. Mohammad Iskandar. Funny man he was, hahaha, but I love it.

The show stated with a pocket show performance by Roger Wang & Friends. Mr. Wang is actually a very famous musician in Sabah and their group had performed both nationally and internationally.

Mr. Roger Wang

Ms. Annabelle (if I got that correct)

The highlight of the show came after. The renowned Jesselton Philharmonic Orchestra (JPO) was established in 2007 with at least 80 musicians, students of music or working professional as well as full time musicians. JPO had performed Nutcracker Suite by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky and Eine Kleine Nachtmusik by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart which I can't get enough of. The crowds too, were asking for more as the show goes on. Well, it's not like everyday we, I personally, witness this kind of event and it's for free!

Claire Petrus Edwin as the vocalist for the orcherstra. I met her a few times and she's really friendly and talented. I heard that she's now taking Music and majoring in vocal at UMS. Good for you Claire.

Well, I know for the fact that pictures speak more than a thousand words so I leave you guys with the rest of the photos that I managed to snap. Hopefully, there's more to come, next year.

The conductor, Mr. Yap if I'm not mistaken
