Although Malaysians are extremely proficient in written English having been a former British colony, they have their own unique brand or casual style of speaking English. Malaysian "Spoken" English is a grammatical blend (or perhaps mess?) of English, Malay, Chinese and even Indian all rolled up in one. There is the use of the expression "lah" at the end of sentences to soften up the delivery. Here’s some example humorously comparing how a British gentlemen would say it versus a Malaysian in "full flight".

BRITISH : This is optional.
MALAYSIAN : "Put or no put, also can-lah".

BRITISH : Why do you behave like so ?
MALAYSIAN : "Why you so like that ?"

BRITISH : Yes, you can do it!
MALAYSIAN : "Can…lah !".

BRITISH : Are you sure of this ?
MALAYSIAN : "Sure or not ?"

BRITISH : Are you crazy ?
MALAYSIAN : "You crazy or what ?"

BRITISH : Hey, please reverse or back out the car a trifle bit more.
MALAYSIAN : "Hey, "gostan" some more, some more. (note : gostan = go astern, a shipping term)

BRITISH : What shall we eat ?
MALAYSIAN : "What to eat ?"

BRITISH : Excuse me, may I enter ?
MALAYSIAN : "Can enter or not ?"

BRITISH : Please excuse me, I’m off to the gents.
MALAYSIAN : "Toilet, toilet, ah (with finger wagging)."

BRITISH : Sorry I’m late. I was caught in a heavy traffic jam.
MALAYSIAN : "Traffic jam, lah."

BRITISH : Sorry, we are out of stock on this good.
MALAYSIAN : "No more anymore, lah."

Breaking News People!!!

Forwarded by my sister!

This is a true case, if you don't believe try the following test:

Soak a pair of disposable chopsticks (usually given to you when you buy pack food from a Chinese take-away)for between 3 to 5 minutes inside hot boiling water. Within minutes and right infront of your eyes, you will noticed that some white colouring matter seems to be dissolved into thehot water from the chopsticks. What is released from the chopsticks is actually a chemical, a bleaching agent.

In a campaign promoting healthy care in Singapore recently, Professor Jackson Mathis reminds people not to use disposable chopsticks, as almost the majority of them are made in or imported from China . He explained that during the manufacturing process of disposable chop-sticks before the actual production itself, all raw materials are already cover-grown with germs that make the wood materials look like they are coated in multiple colours or are covered with poisonous fungus. The first process itself is already frightening as the manufacturer starts the process by soaking up the wooden raw materials inside a very big container that is filled with a very toxic and highlypoisonous chemical.

This chemical is intentionally added in order to preserve the materials. After a few days of soaking, they are then washed with an even worse cleaning agent, in this case it is a bleaching agent (which chemical ph level is believe to be more Than a thousand times over the general permissible/acceptable international standards). And guess what? These chemicals itself is likely to cause greater harm to our health (if we continue consuming such chemicals into our body on a daily basis) not forgetting that since these chemicals usedare usually carcinogenic in nature, they are likely to cause cancer.Since his last visit to a disposable chopsticks manufacturing plant in China 5 years ago, Professor Jackson Mathis has immediately stop using such disposable chopsticks anymore. In Professor Jackson case, just incase if he ever forgets to bring along his own pair of chopsticks for lunch or dinner, he usually make sure that he do not forget to put one pair of it inside his bag since it can be re-use again and again.Professor Jackson Mathis said: "If you have been using disposable chopsticks in the past, and you insist on continue using them again, please pause and think for a moment. Why is cancer spreading like wild fire these days throughout the world affecting all sorts of people. After that think of how many pairs of disposable chopsticks a factory in China is producing by the minute. The answer itself is right here !"

Kisah Ayam Melintas Jalan!

Thursday, July 13, 2006

Why Did the Chicken Cross The Road? What they have to say.
Kindergarten teacher:
Because it wanted to look for food on the other side.

Simmy Vellius Value:

Wani Kamirudin:
Ape kejadahnyer ini semua, KL dah jadik reban ayam, mak bapak ayam asyik menganga saje.Ayam semua dah besar kepala,..dan dah tak nak duduk reban...dan bertambah biadap dan buat perkara yg tak masuk dek akal!

Zainolias Ariffini Ismaili:

Zainul Alima Kadira :
"Ayam siapa kalau bukan ayam kita..."

Sisters in ?:
We abhor the thoughts of the rooster enslaving the hen, that is why female chicken must be brave and know their rights before they cross the road,....and some cross to escape the master/slave marriage....but this Taliban minded syaria court is no help to the grieving hens...all chicken hens should not vote for IFL!

Abdil Fatih Haroniah:
Ayam-ayam yg melintas ini semua adalah kerana mereka ayam-ayam yang GATAL......

Md. Sad Yosof:
Apa salah nya...biarkan mereka lintas...tutup sebelah mata ajelah...ayam-ayam terlebih besar sikit shj.Lagi pun semua nya itu ayam saya.

Sahrin Abdil Samat:
Ini adalah prinsip saya. Ayam-ayam tak boleh dibenarkan melintas jalan.
Kalau beginilah, maka ia nya bertentangan dgn prinsip saya, maka saya RESIGN.

Dany Browny (Da Vinci's code?):
The chicken used to a member of a secret society Poultry of Sion. The Opus Dei chickens are on its back because of the missing parshments of Les Dossiers Secrets. And they(Opus Dei)are known for their 'corporal mortification' practice.

Richardy M. Nixony:
The chicken did not cross the road. I repeat, the chicken did NOT cross the road.

Ronaldo Reaganest:
I forget. But of course this is for their SDI (Strategic Defense Initiative) program if I'm not mistaken.

Billy Clintony:
I've had met so many chicks that like to blow, I can't remember them all...but I like White House intern chicks, like Monica Lewinsky....Ooops I'm sorry Hillary.

Georgy Bushy:
These chicken inspector must be allowed to do their job....Let me stress now...their plutonium enrichment program must be stop, and make no mistake, we are not going to tolerate another WMD producing rouge chicken state, they are axis of evil state....and put all our options on the table..

King Arthur Anderson:
Deregulation of the chicken's side of the road was threatening its dominant market position. The chicken was faced with significant challenges to create and develop the competences required for the newly competitive market. Andersen, in a partnering relationship with the client, helped the chicken by rethinking its physical distribution strategy and implementation processes. Using the Poultry Integration Model (PIM), Andersen helped the chicken use its skills, methodologies, knowledge, capital and experiences to align the chicken people, processes and technology in support of its overall strategy within a Program Management framework.

Computer Programmer:
In order for the chicken to cross the road safely they would need more than one driver to access the server farm, if not they will hang in the middle of the road.

Jerryn Seinfield:
Why does anyone cross a road? I mean, why doesn't anyone ever think to ask "What the heck was this chicken doing walking around all over the place anyway?"

Billy Gatesway:
I have just released the new Chicken Office 2000, which will not only cross roads, but will lay eggs, file your important documents, and balance your checkbook. Microsoft will pledge a billion for research on chicken AIDS.

Dr M&M?:
You know, I am tired of all this...'apa-nama' chicken-chicken know that it is our right to build the bridge on our side of the why are we chicken out?

Pak Laa:
Ini semua adalah khabar angin sahaja...jangan percaya khabar - khabar angin ini semua... biasalah ini adalah taktik pembangkang untuk memecah belahkan perpaduan ayam-ayam semua... jangan percaya... we've decided to scrap the scenic bridge for the best interest of the people...nothing to do with chicken. And of course others have the right to express their opinion....ini biasalah.

Jes Isi Ikan Simpson:
I know it's tuna...but is it fish or chicken that crossed the road?

Tonyn Fernandezorro:
The low fares is certainly good news to many, a majority of whom had never flown before. So why cross the road? With airasia, now everyone can fly!

Notes: Nama apa-apa yang tersebut tiada kaitan dengan sesiapa dan adalah rekaan semata-mata. Kalau adapun, hanyalah kebetulan sahaja....

Song of the Day!

Thursday, July 13, 2006
This song was given by a close friend of mine, in a CD she gave me. I never heard of this song bofore ( I won't mind people saying that I am so last season). But, seriously, never heard of this song before.. The things is, I like this song from the first time I heard it... So this is the song...

- King

There i was waiting for a chance
hoping that u'll understand
the things i wanna say

As my love
is stronger than before
i wanna see u more and more
but you close the door

Why don't u try
to open up your heart
i won't take so much of your time.....

Maybe it's wrong to say please love me too
coz i know u never do
somebody else is waitin' there inside for you....
maybe its wrong to love you more each day
coz i know she's here to stay....
but i know to whom you should belong....

I believe what u said to me
we should set each other free
that's how u want it to be....

but my love is strong
i don't know if this is wrong
but i know to whom you should belong........

Alamak, I Forgot My Thumb Drive!

Thursday, July 13, 2006
Hello you guys,
Thanks for the never ending support for my blog. Hahaha, received a few sms and emails regarding my posting "Good Bye Good Time". Well, its just some feeling I have and seriously killing me softly. But I don't want to talk about that anymore. I've decided to end that misery, end that blissful experience, wrapped in my memories as very interesting. And of course, very sweet. You see, I can't just let it over shadowed my life as if I am so weak! Nevetheless, actually I wanted to upload few photos here. Just to share some of the memories I went through. To show that I appreciate every moments of it, be it good or bad. Unfortunately, I left my thumb drive at home. But I will be uploading it one of these days.. Just wait...

I want to share something with all of you. Something that I overheard from some cartoon on tv.
It says "In our life, we cannot stop ourself from hurting people and definitely, cannot stop ourself from being hurt". For me, this is so true. Life is about learning things. Whatever it is, take every inch of it as education. The one true medicine for broken heart is the love gave by people around. Not forgetting God, that is. The one true source of love.

So whenever we try to please people, remember, we are opening our heart to 100% vice versa of it. But thats life. Thats a serious fact. Something you will live with and can't live without.
Until my next posting...

Good bye Good Time..

Wednesday, July 12, 2006
Hi to all readers,
Thanks for the support for my blog even though I was away from the net for sometimes. But I'm back for good now, and I going to start again the things that I had left behind..You just watch!

You see, I was doing my practicum in one of the school in Tamparuli. Very much an experience. Met few people whom now, are so close to me. Being able to practice what I have learn in theories was the most exciting and toughest of all to be done but I seem to get over it. The more I think that I accomplished in doing my job, the smaller I think I am. My undertakings were kinda interesting. I have learn new things, met new people and personalities but most of all, I found the love of friendship that was as serious as being a one hell of a good family. Every now and then, I can still feel the warmth of togetherness and I often wonder whether what I feel now would be an everlasting feeling. Seriously, I want it that way...

Although I know I have to leave those things behind and start a new one, I must admit that it is not as easy as it seems. Separations and farewell had happened in most of my life and I just couldn't ignore of being entirely fragile. How weak I am.. Its for good, I must say, leaving that under circumstances, will be a serious crime.

I have fun working at the school, I have fun teaching the students and I have fun being surounded by beautiful people. People who have influence me to be better, people who have created a new me and people who comforts me through my days of pain. I have to say good bye now, God knows its hard for me, but I will walk straight, sometimes looking back to the road I have taken, then continue on..

I pray to God that this will help me to be better each and every day.. to the people I love and to the soul I live for...To me, myself and I...

Buat Kenangan dan Memori yang Lebih-lebih Mendewasakanku, Mematangkanku...

Seandainya Kau Ada Disini Denganku
Mungkin Ku Tak sendiri
Bayanganmu Yang Selalu Menemani Ku
Hiasi Malam Sepiku
Ku Ingin Bersama Dirimu

Ku Tak Akan Pernah Berpaling Dari Mu
Walau Kini Kau Jauh Dari Ku
Kan Slalu Ku Nanti
Kerna Ku Sayang Kamu

Hati Ini Selalu Memanggil Namamu
Dengarlah Melatiku
Ku Berjanji Hanyalah Untukmu Cintaku
Takkan Pernah Ada Yang Lain

Adakah Rindu Dihatimu Seperti Rindu Yang Ku Rasa
Sanggupkah Ku Terus Terlena Tanpamu Disisiku
Ku Kan Selalu Menantimu

Seandainya Kau Ada Disini Denganku
Mungkin Ku Tak Sendiri
Bayanganmu Yang Selalu Menemani Ku
Hiasi Malam Sepiku

Ku Ingin Bersama Dirimu
Ku Tak Akan Pernah Berpaling Dari Mu
Walau Kini Kau Jauh Dari Ku
Kan Slalu Ku Nanti
Kerna Ku Sayang Kamu

Kan Slalu Ku Nanti
Kerna Ku Sayang Kamu
